IPL 2018 Retained Players

Vivo IPL 2018 aka IPL 11, mainly sponsored by Vivo, is going to start on 2nd April 2018. This edition of IPL is different from the previous ones as Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are back. The contracts of the IPL players with their teams have expired but the teams have the opportunity of retaining at most 3 vital players before the auction. Altogether 18 players have been retained by the 8 teams among which Virat Kohli has got the highest retention fee of 17 Cr IRs.

Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are making comeback after the ban of 2 years when the teams were found to be involved in matching fixing. The ban on these teams allowed two new teams to join the IPL. The two teams were Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujrat Lions. But the return of the banned teams forced RPS and GL to dissolve from the IPL.  The retention process helped the teams to retain their most valuable players.

The list of the retained players of each team is in the table.
