BRAZILIAN DUO SHINES AS LIVERPOOL PUTS 5 PAST BRIGHTON

Brighton and Hove Albion hosts Merseyside club Liverpool in its home ground ‘The American Express Community stadium’ for match day 15th of Premier league fixture.  There were 30634 visitors in the stadium which was greatest for Brighton’s side till date. Chris Hughton, the manager of Brighton made defensive formation of 4-4-1-1 with Glenn Murray and Pascal Gross leading front line against high pressing and attacking Liverpool with the intention of collective defending and fast counter attack. On the other side, Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool FC gave little surprise by putting Emre Can as centre back partnering Dejan Lovren although fit Ragnar Klavan was on bench.

Klopp started with general and as usual formation of 4-3-3 where front line was leading by man in form Mohammed Salah along with Brazilian duo Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho with Sadio Mane rested for upcoming Champions League game with Spartak Moscow. Left back Alberto Moreno was also rested and replaced with Andy Robertson the new summer signing from Hull city. Also Joe Gomez was replaced by 18 years old Arnold at right back. With Coutinho moving front line, James Milner started in midfield with Jordan Henderson and Wijnaldum. Overall Klopp made 6 changes in this game.

Game started with more surprise as Liverpool often switch formations form 4-3-3 to 3-4-3 with Emre Can and Wijnaldum who were supposed to be central midfielders formed defense of back three with lovren. Arnold and Robertson providing width for the game, Liverpool scored two goals within two minutes. Emre Can headed pass from Coutinho into the net in 30th minute and amazing counter attack of Salah and Coutinho provided 2nd goal for Roberto Firmino in 31th minute

Brighton side did amazing defending keeping back four till 51th minute but sometime switching 5 at back while defending and normal 4 at back while in possession for counter attack with Isaiah Brown and Knockaert providing ball from flanks.

 The Brighton side did some amazing counter attacks where shots of Murray were denied by goal keeper Simon mignolet. But in 51th minute, Brighton were awarded penalty and Glen Murray scored form Penalty spot.

But with amazing ground freekick from Coutinho at 87th minute and own goal from Brighton defender Lewis Dunk at 89th minute, Liverpool were 5-1 up against Brighton and Hove Albion. Roberto Firmino with 2 goals and Coutinho with 1 goal,3 assist once again proved good counter attacking Brazilian duo. Emre Can played his best at centre back with 5 aerials won, 1 tackle won, 3 interceptions and 6 clearances. With this win Liverpool moved to 4th position with 29 points where as Brighton stayed at 15th position of the table with 17 points.
